Save the Date: The Third Semi-Annual National Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage will be on Saturday, September 9, 2023, one year and a day since harsh restrictions on the Traditional Latin Mass took effect in the Diocese of Arlington, and the day following the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In September 2022 and again in March 2023, ALMS led faithful sons and daughters of Holy Mother Church on a pilgrimage of penance and reparation for the destruction of the Western liturgical patrimony, and in support of its full and immediate restoration. The pilgrimage is named in honor of Summorum Pontificum, the motu proprio of Pope Benedict XVI, which in 2007 had liberated the TLM for all Catholics.

So long as the Christifideles continue to suffer under these restrictions, it will remain necessary to make public acts of penance and reparation, and to witness boldly and openly to the beauty and evangelistic power of the traditional Roman Rite liturgy. And so the National Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage will remain a semi-annual occurrence until unfettered access to the traditional Mass and sacraments is restored to the faithful.

Pilgrims gathered at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, DC, at the conclusion of the Second National Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage on Saturday, March 25, 2023.
