Statement from ALMS on the Death of Pope Francis

Pope Francis passed on to his eternal reward on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025. Let us pray for the repose of his soul. And let us pray for the election of a good and holy man to lead the Church as our new pope, one who will restore the traditional Mass and sacraments to their former liberty and work to end the crisis in the Church.

Wednesday, April 23

• Solemn Vespers for the Dead at 7 p.m., St. Thomas Apostle, Washington, DC

Monday, April 28

• Solemn Vespers for the Dead (update: this will be Novus Ordo / Liturgy of the Hours) at 7 p.m., St. Rita of Cascia, Alexandria

• Sung Requiem Mass at 7 p.m., National Shrine of St. Alphonsus Liguori, Baltimore

• Solemn Requiem Mass at 8 a.m., St. Benedict, Chesapeake
